I think T-Nation has some very valid points here.  I always stick to basic compound movements with all my clients – whether it be with dumbbells, barbbell, kettlebell or TRX training.  Squats, lunges, presses and pulls – and LOTS of total body core exercises like mountain climbers, spiderman climbs, and various planks.  Combine that with a decent nutrition plan – stick to it religiously, and you HAVE to have success.
